Osborne Racing DevelopmentsOsborne Racing Developments operates from converted Farm buildings in the tiny hamlet of Preston on the Weald Moors in Rural Shropshire. Our in house facilities are extensive.

We are one of the few motorsport companies of any size to have its own fully computerised rolling road dynameters.

Our expertise is principally in the area of Fords up to 2 litres and Minis. We are however, pleased to offer help and advice on any classic racing saloon.

Cedric Osborne (Team Owner)

Team owner and designer Cedric Osbornes experience in motorsport goes back to 1960 when he began preparing race and rally cars and competing in them. Later working with Ralph Broad of Broadspeed fame and The Ford Motor Company, he competed in hillclimb and sprint events throughout the sixties. Driving many types of car including Minis, Austin Healey Sprites and Ford Anglias, he achieved several hillclimb and sprint records. In 1971 he competed in the first one make formula, the Ford Escort challenge, and in the following year drove an Escort prepared by Bather Engineering. At the end of that season he retired from competition driving and has continued to prepare and enter cars for competition ever since.

Rob Trevor (Race Driver)

Anglia

Driver Rob Trevor began in Autograss cars at the age of fifteen, winning many races and championships during the seventies. In 1983 he moved to saloon racing, competing in the Pre-1957 Classic Saloon Car Championship in an Austin A35 prepared by Cedric Osborne. The following season saw him become Classic Saloon Car Champion in only his second full season of circuit racing. New for 1991 was the Ford Anglia and in the ICS Historic Saloon Car Championship he achieved several top three class results. The last two seasons he has campaigned Osbornes Anglia in the Historic Saloon Car Series, last year achieving two class wins. This year, with the Anglia now more competitive than ever he is confident of success.

John Johnson (Race Engineer)

Geordie race engineer John Johnson has spent most of his career in precision engineering around Jaguar and Rolls Royce engines and transmissions. His background includes testing of commercial and military vehicle engines and the development of new testing programmes and procedures. He is an expert on computerised dynomometers and when not working on Osborne engines indulges in his passion for classic motorcycles, rebuilding and riding Nortons and BSAs.

Trevor Lacey (Hill Climb Driver)

Trevor Lacey started his competition career in Road Rallies in 1968 driving a Mini Cooper S 970cc. This he used until 1971. His next venture was as Team Manager of the Army Rally Team based at Donnington Shropshire. He oversaw the development of an Austin 1800 Landcrab for use in National and International rallies. He acted as Service Crew Manager on many rallies. He competed in Road Rallies in 1974 in an Avenger GT, and in a Mini 1275.

Trevor moved to Sprinting and Hillclimbing in 1996 in a 1275GT Mini, then in a 1380 Mini and in 1998 he purchased a Renault 5 Alpine and came 3rd in the Loton Park Hillclimb Championship. His current competition car is a Ford Escort RS2000 which is developed to a high standard.
